Prophecies and Survival Strategies for 2012 and Beyond

Besides life, death and taxes, the only certainty is change.  It’s evident that times are changing and the fact remains that the only thing you have any control over is how you choose to react.   Eckhart Tolle says this about change; “When faced with a radical crisis… when survival is threatened by seemingly insurmountable problems; individual life-form, or species, will either die, become extinct, or rise above the limitations of its condition through an evolutionary leap” (A New Earth). 

So what do the 2012 Prophecy experts say?

There are many people writing about 2012 Prophecies.  Information based on the Bible, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, The Procession of the Equinoxes, the Polar Shifts, and the Mayan Prophecies may vary, but there is scientific data to back it some of it up.  For example, the Mayan calendar is almost 4000 years old. Since the tribe’s survival was tied into the seasons, the ancients studied the stars and figured out how to chart the seasons.  The Mayans were master astronomers, and the end of the world date of Dec. 21, 2012 was literally set in stone by them thousands of years ago.

The Mayans has such knowledge of the universe that they are credited with creating the oldest, most accurate calendars still in existence today.  One form known as the Long Count has a starting-point equivalent to August 11, 3114 BC.  The Long Count calendar lasts 5,125 years and terminates (by some experts) on December 21, 2012. There is no doubt that the Maya were skilled astronomers. They even calculated the cycle of Venus and possibly Mars, Mercury and Jupiter with extreme accuracy. In fact they created a special calendar based on the movement of Venus. 

Currently the 2009 spring equinox is in Pisces, and the winter solstice is in Sagittarius, which happens to be the constellation intersected by the galactic equator.  Every year for the last 2000 years or so, on the winter solstice, the Earth, Sun and the galactic equator come into alignment, and every year,  this Procession of the Equinox’s pushes the Sun a little way further through the Milky Way’s band. The 2012 conjunction is celebrated as the harbinger of a profound transition for mankind.

Some suggest that ancient Mayan knowledge of this event was based on observations of a dark rift in the Milky Way, a phenomenon which can be observed from Earth.  The Maya called it the Black Road or Xibalba be. Apparently, they were aware of where the ecliptic intersected the Black Road and they gave this position in the sky a special significance. The sun precisely aligns with this intersection point at the winter solstice of 2012, and it incorporates warnings from climate experts and other environmental scientists that the Earth could then reach a tipping point that could create a magnetic wobble.  Astronomers have confirmed that this could happen and are in agreement with geologists who say this may be the next pole shift.  Certainly a Polar Shift would generate mass extinctions and it has happened many times in the history of the planet. However, many academic scholars of Mayan civilizations dispute the apocalyptic interpretation of the Long Count calendar end-date and insist that the date 12/21/2012 is simply a “reset” date.

Don Alejandro, President of the National Council of Elders Mayas speaking on March 17, 2009 says this: “But for us, the Mayans, it is only a change of the Sun ... a change of a cycle of the Sun. it is not the first time this is going to happen nor will it be the last.” (Click here to read his entire message.)   

Christian followers of all sorts call this the second coming of Christ.  Metaphysicians see it as a time of ascension to a higher dimension.  They believe that if you can shift your consciousness to be more loving and forgiving you can physically change the frequencies in your body (I have confirmed this happens since I can measure these frequencies with the Quantum Biofeedback SCIO). They believe that during the 'shift' these lighter frequencies will allow you to move into a different dimension where we will physically change vibrations, live forever and have all knowledge and happiness. Nice thought, huh?  

A New Age interpretation of this transition suggests that even now the planet and its inhabitants are undergoing transformations due to the Christ Consciousness Grid being activated. You can read more about this grid in several of the books mentioned below.  They also see incredible possibilities for those who choose to make positive changes in their life now.  And they also believe that those who make these changes will undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation rather than an Armageddon.  One thing science has verified is that although any Great Shift may well be the end of the world as we know it, portions of humanity and the Earth will survive.

Quantum science discovered many years ago that the universe is a vast energetic network, where everything is connected.  Some of this Quantum research suggests that the future is influenced by a collective consciousness. As a result of this science it is believed that a global "consciousness shift" will dramatically alter the future of the planet Earth.

In any event, the 2012 Prophecy is a call to learn more about this event, raise your awareness of what possible outcomes exist, and decide if you want to take an evolutionary leap beyond perceived limitations as Eckhart Toole suggests.  As with all significant events, how you prepare to respond will determine your outcome.
